How do I clean goalkeeper gloves properly?

Glove Care, Done Right

Latex needs the right care to last and keep its grip. Here's how.

Before First Use

  • Pre-wash in warm water (max 86°F / 30°C), no soap. Or use GloveGlu Wash & Prepare.
  • Air dry naturally. Away from heat and direct sun.
  • Protective film on the gloves? Remove it after the pre-wash. Full details in our glove guide.

After Each Use

1. Rinse immediately. As soon as you can after playing. Warm water, max 86°F / 30°C.

2. Hand-wash only. Hands, never a machine, scrubber, or harsh detergent. Gently squeeze water through the latex. Don't wring.

3. Dry naturally. Pat with a towel first. Air dry, cool and shaded. No heat, ever. Not the dryer, not a radiator, not a hair dryer, not direct sun.

Storage Tips

  • Wash before storing. Every time.
  • Cool, slightly moist environment.
  • Not too wet (bacteria, mold), not too dry (brittle latex).
  • Palms apart. Pressed together, they stick and tear.

Durability Tips

  • Normal wear after first use is expected. That's how soft latex delivers grip.
  • Turf or dry surfaces wear latex faster.
  • Push off with your fists, not open palms. Cuts down on abrasion.
