How do I wash or care for my Storelli gear?
Proper care helps your gear last longer, maintain its protective qualities, and stay game-ready all season.
General Gear Care (Apparel, Sliders, Leggings, Headgear)
Washing Best Practices
- Machine Wash Warm with mild detergent only.
- No bleach, softeners, or harsh chemicals — they break down padding and coatings.
- Turn inside out before washing to protect logos and reduce surface wear.
- Mesh laundry bags are recommended for padded gear (goalkeeper leggings, impact sliders, arm guards).
Drying
- Tumble dry low heat or air dry.
- Never use high heat (dryer, radiator, or direct sun) — this damages elastic fibers and padding.
- Remove promptly from dryer to keep compression intact.
Storage
- Always dry completely before storing.
- Store in a breathable bag in a cool, dry place.
- Keep gear separate from dirty cleats/socks.
- Add silica gel packs to your bag to absorb moisture.
Usage Tips
- Rotate gear if you train daily to reduce wear.
- Ensure proper fit — too tight strains stitching; too loose reduces protection.
- Rinse mud/sweat after play to extend life.
- Replace gear when padding flattens or elastic feels loose.

Goalkeeper Glove Care
Before First Use
- Pre-wash in warm water (no soap), then air dry.
- Or use GloveGlu Wash & Prepare for best results.
- Remove any protective film from latex before play.
Before Each Game
- Dampen palms under warm water 2 hours before kickoff to activate grip.
- Keep palms moist (not soaked) — wrap in a towel in your bag until game time.
During the Game
- Use GloveGlu spray on palms if extra stickiness is needed.
After Each Use
- Rinse gloves in warm water as soon as possible.
- Hand-wash only — never use a washing machine, scrubbers, or harsh detergents.
- Air dry naturally, away from heat or direct sunlight.
- Do not leave gloves in your bag — latex can dry out and crack.
Storage
- Store in a cool, slightly moist environment.
- Avoid leaving gloves too wet (mold risk) or too dry (latex becomes brittle).
- Don’t store palms pressed together — they may stick and tear.
Durability Tip
- Avoid pushing yourself up with open palms on turf; use your fists instead to reduce latex abrasion.
- Expect normal latex wear after first use — that’s part of how soft latex delivers grip.

Why Proper Care Matters
- Extended lifespan: Gear lasts longer with proper washing, drying, and storage.
- Consistent protection: Padding, compression, and latex grip perform as designed.
